BIOGRAPHY

Maui based, South African bred resin artist, Craig Hart was born and raised in CapeTown. He has been inspired by the elements of surfing and the ocean his entire life. Surrounded by generations of artists and finish carpenters who have guided him from a young age to work creatively with his hands. Clear memories of his first surfboard at age 8 he was intrigued by the construction, hence his appreciation for surfboard resin.
Working predominately with epoxy resin, his fearless approach is unorthodox, working with materials such as birch wood panels, poplar wood panels, acrylic paint, and epoxy resin which creates bold and explosive pieces.
All “canvases” are hand crafted outdoors from birch and poplar wood panels using powered tools to create its uniqueness.
Craig’s fascination stems from spending hours in the water looking back toward the land and the natural elements the islands have to offer.
His intention is with every piece you feel a little bit of Aloha spirit from the Hawaiian Islands.
Aloha Aina, Aloha Kai!
